Red grapes

Ciliegiolo
Red grapesVitis vinifera
Ciliegiolo ripens early and gives a compact cluster, rich in sugar and in the cherry notes that give the grape its name. It is traditionally paired with Sangiovese, which it softens and rounds out, following a custom common throughout the Maremma. It thrives on limestone-rich soils and a mild climate — a modest but precious variety that we tend with the same care as ever.

Sangiovese
Red grapesVitis vinifera
Sangiovese is Tuscany's signature grape, and the red heart of our vineyards since 1968. Loose clusters, thin skin and a lively acidity give it real character, prized across the region for generations. It ripens in September and prefers well-exposed hillside soils, where it finds the ideal conditions to thrive. It remains the variety closest to our heart.
